Bordeaux mixture and other copper based mixtures are used preventively against grapevine downy mildew.

It has low toxicity, but problems arise in some soils where copper accumulates, due to too frequent use.

Recently, it isn’t found anymore easily in shops, but only in garden centres with the ad hoc authorization.
